THE GOLF BALL HAS CHANGED THE WAY THE CLUBS PERFORM

The construction and make-up of the golf ball has changed many aspects of the construction of golf clubs

What has changed

  • No more soft cover and wound inner = HIGH SPIN
  • High spin increase side movements = SLICE / HOOK

Most balls are now 3 piece construction

  • Thin cover, soft inner - PERFORMANCE BALL
  • Thicker cover, soft inner - GENERAL PLAY
  • Thick cover, harder inner - ROUGH FEEDERS

Golf balls are more durable - But what is right for you?

  • Distance with Feel
  • Distance with Control
  • Distance with more Distance

All aspects of golf balls you use will determine the type of driver and clubs you use

Pro V1 and Pro V1X are not the longest golf balls, they are chosen for their overall performance.

The standard Pinnacle will give you the MOST distance but will give you limited control around the greens.

So how can we tell what is right for you?

We will test your swing speed and ball speed in the Academy.

What am I supposed to look for in a club?

  1. Launch Angle   -     We can find launch angle from club face angle and shaft flex point
  2. Club Speed      -     Club speed from swing and shaft flex
  3. Less Ball Spin  -     Ball spin from ball type, swing, loft of face

To reduce side spin - hook or slice

Reduce the spin of the ball

  1. Loft change - less loft, less spin. This is new because of the ball and club construction
  2. Change the ball you use, you may have a high spinning ball that will shape your shot.
